Senior Living Malaysia

Guided care finder

Not sure what kind of care your parent needs? Start here.

Most families begin their search not knowing the vocabulary — is it a nursing home they need, or assisted living, or dementia care? This free guided tool asks a few plain questions about your parent's situation, recommends the care tier that likely fits, and shortlists matching homes from our directory. It takes about two minutes, runs entirely in your browser, and asks for nothing — no contact details — to show you your results.

Step 1 of 5 Where & who

Who is the care for, and where?

A couple of basics to get started.

Who is the care for?

Common questions

How does the Find Care tool decide what type of care to recommend?

The tool uses a simple, transparent set of rules — not artificial intelligence and not a clinical assessment. It asks about your parent's mobility, how much help they need with daily activities, their medical and nursing needs, and their memory, and maps those answers to a care tier: palliative care, dementia (memory) care, a nursing home, assisted living, or independent living. For example, a need for skilled nursing points to a nursing home; dementia with wandering or behavioural changes points to dedicated dementia care; needing help with daily living but not clinical nursing points to assisted living. The result page explains exactly which of your answers drove the recommendation, so you can see the reasoning. It is a starting point to orient your search — the right tier can blur in practice, and your parent's actual needs are best confirmed with their doctor.

Is the Find Care tool a substitute for medical advice?

No. Senior Living Malaysia is an independent directory and matching service, not a healthcare provider, and this tool does not give medical advice. The care-tier recommendation is a general orientation based on the answers you give — it is not a clinical assessment of your parent and not a diagnosis. The level of care a person genuinely needs should be confirmed with their doctor or care team, who can assess them properly. Use the tool to understand the landscape and build a shortlist; use a clinician for the medical judgement.

Do I have to give my contact details to use the Find Care tool?

No. The whole tool runs in your browser — you answer the questions, and it shows you a recommended care tier and a shortlist of matching homes from our directory without you giving any contact details at all. The questions and the matching all happen on your device; nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to. At the end, if you would like a person to review the shortlist and help further, there is an optional form to send your details — but using the tool itself, and seeing your results, costs nothing and asks for nothing.

What happens after I send my details at the end?

If you choose to send your details at the results step, your answers and contact information come to us, and we reply — usually within one working day, on WhatsApp or email — with a considered shortlist of homes that fit, plus honest notes on each. It is the same free, no-obligation matching service offered on our Get Matched page; the wizard simply means we receive your situation already laid out, so the shortlist we build for you starts from real detail. We never charge families, and we do not sell your details.

The Find Care tool gives a general orientation, not medical advice and not a clinical assessment. Senior Living Malaysia is an independent directory and matching service. The recommended care tier and the shortlist are a starting point for your own research — always confirm a parent's care needs with their doctor, and verify any home directly before committing.
