About

ReU Living MiCasa is the original ReU property — the first house in what is now a small but distinctive Malaysian assisted-living network. It operates inside MiCasa All Suites Hotel on Jalan Tun Razak, in the Taman U-Thant diplomatic enclave. The defining choice was structural: rather than building or converting a dedicated facility, ReU partnered with an established hospitality operator and embedded the senior-living programme inside hotel infrastructure. That partnership is the reason MiCasa has private kitchenette suites (most Malaysian senior residences don’t), hotel-grade housekeeping, and the kind of dining and concierge service standards that hospitality operators run by default. The Mid Valley flagship that came later inherited this hospitality-first DNA.

Care & services

Three care tracks under one roof. Independent retirement living for seniors who are largely self-managing — the suite-with-kitchenette layout means residents can cook for themselves if they want. Assisted living for residents needing structured daily-care support — bathing, dressing, medication management, ADL assistance — while still occupying the same hospitality-grade accommodation. Post-operative and recovery stays for residents recovering from surgery or hospital discharge, with a defined return-home timeline; this is the track that distinguishes ReU from standard assisted-living operators.

Hotel-catered meals, housekeeping, and activity programming are part of the base package. The senior-specific layer — anti-slip flooring, bed-guard rails, salt-water pool calibrated for senior use, structured clubhouse activities — is overlaid on the hotel’s existing facilities. The result is a residence that feels markedly less institutional than typical Malaysian senior care.

What families should know

Assisted living from RM 6,800 per person per month — meaningfully below the RM 9,980 entry rate at the Mid Valley flagship, while still in the Klang Valley premium tier. The price differential between the two ReU properties tracks the address premium of Mid Valley vs U-Thant rather than a difference in operating standard.

The strongest fit for MiCasa specifically: broadly-independent seniors and recovery-stay residents who want central KL positioning without the density of Mid Valley. The diplomatic-enclave setting is genuinely quieter than the flagship’s mall-integrated environment — residents who would find Mid Valley overstimulating but still want the central urban location prefer here. Recovery stays specifically benefit from the proximity to Gleneagles KL and Prince Court (under 5 minutes), both of which handle the kinds of cardiac, orthopaedic, and oncology procedures that produce ReU recovery-track admissions.

The trade-off vs the flagship: smaller asset, less integrated commercial environment around it, no on-site clinic (residents needing on-site medical follow-up should consider the Gardens property where Mediviron is in-building). Families who specifically need clinical-grade nursing — tube feeding, complex wound care, advanced dementia — should confirm the home’s scope directly; ReU’s positioning is closer to assisted-living-with-recovery than full nursing-home capability.

Location

368B, Jalan Tun Razak, Taman U-Thant, 50400 Kuala Lumpur — the diplomatic enclave off Jalan Tun Razak, immediately adjacent to KLCC. Gleneagles KL is 5 minutes; Prince Court Medical Centre is 5 minutes; KPJ Damansara Specialist 15-20 minutes; Pantai Hospital KL 15-20 minutes. The neighbourhood is one of central KL’s quieter pockets — embassy residences, upscale condominiums, mature streets — which suits residents wanting central KL access without the noise of Bukit Bintang or KLCC ground level. The MRT Kajang line at Tun Razak Exchange station is nearby for car-free visits. Heritage of the area: Taman U-Thant was named after U Thant, the third UN Secretary-General — Burmese, served 1961-1971 — which says something about the neighbourhood’s character even decades on.

How we determined this licensing status

Joint venture with IGB Berhad. High clinical standards for post-hospitalisation.

Licensing status can change — licences expire, transfer to new operators, or get renewed under a different legal entity. We cross-reference public sources to be as accurate as possible, but always ask to see the physical certificate during your tour. For JKM, ask for the Perakuan Pendaftaran Pusat Jagaan. For MOH, ask for the CKAPS approval letter.

Operators: email your certificate to hello@seniorlivingmalaysia.org and we will upgrade this listing to a Verified ✓ badge showing the certificate date. While you're at it — one line on cultural fit (halal kitchen, surau, Mandarin-speaking staff, dietary accommodations) helps the families who specifically search for that.
