In August 2026 a member of the public sent us the Majlis Pusat Kebajikan SeMalaysia (MPKSM) register of Rumah Sejahtera welfare homes. Its Perlis page lists Rumah Sejahtera Behor Mali, 11 residents, given as d/a Sekolah Agama Al-Islahiah, Behor Mali, 02700 Kangar.
We believe that is this home - same village, same postcode, same kind of home - but the street differs and we have not had it confirmed, so we have not merged the two records silently. If you ring, it is worth asking which name they go by.
MPKSM runs roughly 63 Rumah Sejahtera homes across Peninsular Malaysia, a network begun in 1951, and only some appear on the JKM register.
What a welfare home costs
A sister home in Negeri Sembilan told us in August 2026 that residents there typically receive a JKM allowance of RM600 a month and contribute RM400 of it toward food and accommodation, keeping the balance for personal items. Terms vary by home and none of this is confirmed here - but it is the right question to ask, and applying for the JKM allowance is usually the step that comes first.
