About

EHA Kluang is the founding site of the network — the original Justlife ElderCare Home, opened in 2009 in Taman Dato Amar Diraja, Kluang. It is the oldest continuously-operating EHA property and the longest single-facility track record the group can point to. While the rest of the network has grown around the SG-cross-border and Klang-Valley markets, Kluang has stayed true to its origin: a domestic-Johor placement option for central and northern Johor families. Founder-site continuity also matters in practice — staff tenure here is generally longer than at the newer branches, which translates into deeper local-resident knowledge over time.

Care & services

24/7 healthcare staffing across nursing, assisted living, dementia care, daycare, and respite stays. Bilingual English/Mandarin care. Operational standards align with the wider EHA network — staff training, incident handling, and case management procedures are network-standard, with the local depth of a 16-year operating site.

Pricing

Kluang carries the most affordable rates in the EHA network — reflecting central Johor’s cost-of-living rather than any difference in operating standards:

  • Assisted senior living: RM 2,300/month (vs RM 3,200 at JB and KL branches)
  • Daycare: RM 1,300/month
  • Respite care: RM 80/day (vs RM 120 at JB and KL)

Nursing-level and dementia-care pricing on enquiry. For families specifically optimising for cost, the Kluang differential of roughly RM 900 per month at the assisted-living tier is meaningful — RM 10,800 per year compared to a JB EHA branch with the same operator standards.

What families should know

The strongest fit: families based in central or northern Johor — Kluang itself, Mersing, Segamat, Yong Peng, Batu Pahat — who want a local placement without a JB-area commute. For families further north in Johor, this is genuinely the most accessible quality option in the state. For Singaporean cross-border families, the distance from the Causeway (90-100 km, 90-120 minutes drive) makes it impractical for the visit-cadence most SG families want; one of the JB branches is generally a better fit.

The other case for Kluang: as a domestic step-down option after a JB hospital admission, if the family is based in central Johor and doesn’t want to maintain a JB-area placement long-term. EHA’s network structure allows internal transfers, so a stabilisation period at one of the JB branches followed by a permanent move to Kluang is a workable pattern.

Location

3, Jalan Sheikh Kadir Ahmad, Taman Dato Amar Diraja, 86000 Kluang — central Johor, roughly equidistant from Johor Bahru (south, 90-100 km) and Segamat (north, 60 km). The neighbourhood is quiet, mature residential, with low through-traffic. Hospital coverage: Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom is the public Kluang hospital; KPJ Kluang Utama Specialist Hospital handles private referrals. From the Causeway it’s 90-120 minutes by car via the North-South Expressway — too far for weekly visits but feasible for monthly cadence if a Singaporean family genuinely had ties to central Johor.

Network

For Singaporean cross-border families, the JB branches (Golfview, Parkview, Lakeview, Sunview) are the natural geographic fit. For Klang Valley families, Grandview Jalan Ipoh (north KL) and Bayview Sungai Long (south Klang Valley) are the network options.
