About

Joyat Care Centre is the residential and day-care arm of Joyat Health Care, in Taman Bukit Kempas on the eastern side of Johor Bahru. It is a separate location from the group’s home-care office in Skudai - the operator asked in August 2026 for the two to be listed distinctly, because the services at each are different.

The centre currently accommodates up to 18 residents, with a planned maximum of 45.

Care & services

Day care runs 9am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday. For an independent senior - someone who walks and eats unaided and needs only light supervision - it is RM 150 for a drop-in day, RM 2,000/month for 20 weekdays, or RM 2,800/month for all seven days, with no surcharge.

A dependent senior pays a supplement on top: RM 50/day, RM 500/month on the weekday package, or RM 1,000/month on the seven-day package. That covers mobility and transfer assistance, toileting, personal care, feeding assistance, medication reminders and closer supervision. Worth knowing before comparing headline day-care rates elsewhere: the RM 2,000 figure is the independent rate, and a parent needing help with transfers is really looking at RM 2,500.

Residential care is tiered. Independent care from RM 2,800/month covers accommodation, meals, housekeeping, basic supervision and social activities. Assisted care from RM 3,100 adds help with daily living, mobility support and medication assistance. Nursing care from RM 3,500 adds nursing supervision, personal care and health monitoring.

Those figures are for a shared room. A twin room adds RM 300/month and a private room RM 500/month - so a private nursing-level place is around RM 4,000.

One genuinely uncommon inclusion: at the nursing tier, a ripple mattress, a hospital medical bed and high-dependency care are all included at no additional charge. Most operators bill a medical bed and a high-dependency supplement separately, often RM 400 to RM 500 each, so this is worth weighing when comparing quotes.

Post-hospitalisation recovery is priced separately: RM 3,500/month for general recovery, rising to RM 4,500/month for high-dependency recovery, which explicitly covers bedridden residents, NG tube feeding, catheter care, turning and positioning, and pressure injury prevention.

Extras. Physiotherapy is RM 150 a session, or roughly RM 1,200/month for a regular programme covering personalised rehabilitation exercises, mobility training, strengthening work and recovery monitoring. Standard meals are included; special dietary requirements - vegetarian, diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, soft or pureed - add RM 300/month each.

What families should know

Joyat is a newer operator, so enquire directly about current vacancy and the status of their JKM care centre registration. The pricing is unusually transparent for Johor, where most centres quote one figure and adjust privately - which makes it easier to work out what a rising care level will actually cost before committing rather than after.

Two things to price in that families often miss here: the base rates are shared-room, and a special diet is a real monthly line item rather than a courtesy.

The group also runs home care from its Skudai office, so a family can begin with visits at home and move into the centre if the care level increases, without changing provider.

Location

Taman Bukit Kempas, 81200 Johor Bahru - the Kempas area on the eastern side of the city, near the Kempas Interchange and the Tebrau corridor. Roughly 20 minutes from Paradigm Mall. Distinct from the group’s Skudai home-care office on the western side of JB.
