About

Master Care Centre (Mandarin branding 慈康护理中心 / “Mercy Health Nursing Centre”) is a three-branch Johor Bahru nursing home chain spanning Taman Abad, Taman Daya, and Bandar Johor Bahru (Jalan Hassan Al-Attas as HQ). The three-location footprint gives families geographic flexibility within JB - the Taman Daya branch covers north JB, while Abad and Yahya cover central JB.

Care & services

Elderly care, post-surgery care, stroke rehabilitation, and physiotherapy across the branches. Standard care includes 24-hour nursing, a fortnightly in-house doctor’s visit, medication administration, fully-assisted activities of daily living (ADL), daily monitoring of vital signs, scheduled body positioning, daily sponging and laundry, a monthly health report summary, and recreation facilities. Specific higher-acuity capabilities (NG/PEG, dementia-secure, palliative) should be confirmed via direct enquiry.

Care levels & pricing

Master Care prices by care category, based on an ADL (activities of daily living) assessment:

  • Category II - RM 3,800/month - for semi-independent residents who are mobile (not wheelchair-bound) and without dementia or schizophrenia. Includes 24-hour nursing, fortnightly in-house doctor visit, medication administration, fully-assisted ADL, daily vitals, body positioning, sponging and laundry, monthly health report, and recreation.
  • Higher-dependency categories (e.g. wheelchair-bound, dementia, specialised medical conditions) are assessed individually and priced on enquiry.

Room types: general ward, double room, or single room. A deposit plus one month’s advance is payable on registration; subsequent payments are due in the first week of each month.

Admission

Admission starts with an ADL category assessment (via a form, or a discussion with the care coordinator / nurse-in-charge) to determine the care plan and room type. Documents to prepare: a photocopy of the IC/passport for both the resident and the payer, the medical discharge note / health report, and medicine instructions. Non-Malaysian residents also need their original passport plus four passport photos for a long-term pass. Transport to the centre can be arranged.

What families should know

The three-branch JB chain is the main asset - useful for families with parents in different parts of JB or those wanting Singapore-cross-border access from any of the JB districts. The Mandarin branding signals primary appeal to Chinese-Malaysian families, useful for dementia care where seniors often revert to mother tongue. Confirm bed counts, pricing, and licensing per branch directly.
